Fasting Changes You (Not God)!

For a few years my body had been attacked with various things, including rashes, low back pain, lots of inflammation, and joints problems. Because of the intense spiritual work I’ll done in the past, I pretty much knew what the cause was for the attacks — for the most part. I worked through several past life events, locating the root of many situations and attacks, finding closure with an awareness and understanding, including a need for forgiveness, which in return, spiritual and physical healing occurred. Some healing was immediate and some with more of a progressive route.

The Spirit impressed upon me to start “fasting” about a month ago for additional help with the healing. The revelation given by The Spirit was “But this kind does not go out but by prayer and fasting.” I asked The Spirit for help in going forth with the fasting. The fast consisted of mainly water 20 hours daily, with a window allowance to eat within a 4 hour period. Within the 3rd or 4th week I begin to notice healing inside out of my body, a glowing of my countenance (expressed by others) and an increase of intuition, knowledge, and wisdom with many things.

I noticed that food had played a huge part of my life. I became extremely aware of my past and recent tendency to lean on food as a substitute for God and the need to live only in the moment. I was also reminded of these words “. . . man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.”

This fasting has brought me to a place where I stay present, depending on God for all things and in all things. It has brought me to a place that when I eat, I am very present and thankful for the provision and nourishment of what I allow to go inside my physical body. I have been able to leave behind the desire of certain foods, things, and individuals that no longer serve me and with ease.

This fasting is very powerful. It has not only detoxed my physical body, but also my soul of past and future desires that are not lined up with God’s promises for me. I encourage each of you reading this post to perhaps consider fasting a few hours a day or a meal. However, please do research about the various types of fasting, the benefits, etc., asking The Spirit for guidance and direction. This could very well be the route you need for complete healing of any bondage that has held you in the past for so long.

Praying peace, healing, and love over you. ~ Joseph Stingley
